Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the new Aadhaar app mobile application on Tuesday with a Face ID feature and a QR code scanning feature.
Developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), this app is very secure so that everyone can use it. It also allows data exchange based on QR codes, providing a more convenient dark experience.
Indians know very well how important Aadhaar cards are for Indians; that’s why the Aadhaar app, which the Union Ministry has developed, can only exchange personal information, which eliminates the need to carry physical copies.
Why was the Aadhaar app launched?
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently launched this new Aadhaar app intending to make the Aadhaar verification process easier and more secure. There are some other reasons like
Improved convenience: The app eliminates the need to carry an Aadhaar card or submit a photocopy for identity verification; users can verify their information with a QR code, just like when making UPI payments.
Enhanced Privacy and Security: The app ensures that Aadhaar information is shared only with user consent, giving complete control over personal information. This will provide strong protection against Aadhaar usage fraud or data leakage.
Some AI-powered features: The app will provide real-time authentication by leveraging artificial intelligence and facial recognition technology, which adds an extra layer of security to data verification.
Digital Transformation: This initiative can be a good thing as it will reduce the dependency on physical document verification and increase the availability of various Aadhaar services.
The purpose of launching this app is to emphasize data privacy, information security, and prevention of information misuse.
Referring to social media platform X, the Union Minister announced the beta launch and showcased some features in a video.

A complete legal framework has been created in our country. Now, we have to see how the Aadhaar Act can be made compatible with the DPDP Act. This is a task that I would request the UIDAI authorities to take up as one of the major tasks in the future. Because when the Aadhaar Act was passed, there were many gaps; today those gaps have been filled, said Union Minister Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw.
